Pricing FAQ
How much do designers earn?
You set your own design fee — the markup you add above the blank product cost — and keep 70% of it. Example: blank t-shirt costs KES 800, you set a design fee of KES 700, customer pays KES 1,500. You earn KES 490 (70% of KES 700) per sale. Paid weekly to your M-Pesa every Friday. Most Kenyan designers price their design fee between KES 300–1,000.
Are there any subscription fees?
No. Design Yangu is completely free to use. You only pay when you place an order. Designers pay nothing to list — we earn a small platform fee from each sale.
How does M-Pesa payment work?
At checkout you enter your Safaricom number. An M-Pesa STK push is sent to your phone. Confirm on your handset and the payment is done — no need to enter a card number or create a wallet.
Are prices inclusive of printing?
Yes. The 'With design' price shown includes printing, quality check, and packaging. Delivery is charged separately based on your location.
When do designer earnings get paid out?
Earnings accumulate in your dashboard and are paid out every Friday via M-Pesa. Free Forever accounts require a minimum KES 500 balance to trigger a payout. Founding Designers have no minimum — any balance is paid out immediately on Friday.
Can I order in bulk for lower prices?
Yes — bulk discounts apply for team and event orders. Orders of 10–24 units get 10% off, 25–49 units get 15% off, and 50+ units get 20% off. For 50+ units or LPO-based orders (above KES 15,000), WhatsApp or email us for a custom quote.
