Design Yangu Buyer FAQ: Every Question You Have Before Placing Your First Custom Order in Kenya

Everything you need to know before ordering custom merch in Kenya — quality, delivery, M-Pesa payments, returns, minimum orders, and more. Honest answers from Design Yangu.

You've been sent a link to a designer's shop on Design Yangu. Or you've been looking for a place to print custom t-shirts for your team. You have questions. That's smart. Custom merch is not a small purchase — you want to know you're spending your money well before you send that M-Pesa. These are the questions real buyers ask us. Answered honestly.

How does this actually work? Design Yangu is Kenya's print-on-demand marketplace. You browse and order, pay via M-Pesa (STK Push, right on the site — no card needed, no PayPal drama), we print each product to order so it's fresh, then we deliver countrywide. The designer whose artwork you bought earns a royalty. You get the product. Everyone wins.

What's the print quality like? We use professional direct-to-garment (DTG) printing and screen printing. What we guarantee: colours that are vivid and won't look washed out, prints that don't crack or peel after the first wash (follow care instructions — cold wash, inside out, no tumble dry), and fabric quality that matches what's shown on the product listing.

How long does delivery take? Production takes 3-5 business days as every order is made fresh. After production: Nairobi 1-2 business days, other major towns 2-3 business days, upcountry and remote areas 3-5 business days. Total timeline: 6-10 business days from payment to your hands in most cases. If you need something for a specific event, order with a buffer.

Can I return a custom product? Custom products are made specifically for you. We will fix or replace your order at no cost if the print quality is visibly poor, the wrong product or size was delivered, or the product arrived damaged. We can't accept returns if you ordered the wrong size or changed your mind about the design.

Is my M-Pesa safe on Design Yangu? Yes. We use Safaricom's official Daraja API. When you click 'Pay with M-Pesa,' Safaricom sends an STK Push to your phone. You enter your PIN directly on your phone — not on our website. We never see it. We never store it. Your payment is confirmed by Safaricom before your order is placed.

What's the minimum order? One. You can order a single t-shirt, one mug, one phone case. No minimum order quantity. This is one of the things that makes print-on-demand genuinely different from traditional bulk printing.

What if something goes wrong? Contact us. Directly. Humans respond, not bots. We're a Kenyan platform, run by Kenyans, serving Kenyans. If your order goes wrong, we want to know. We'll sort it out. The first order of any customer going wrong is the worst possible thing for our business — we have every incentive to make sure you're happy.
